Obituary : Richard Wellington Chubb
Richard W. Chubb Rites Held Wednesday
Richard W. Chubb, 54, died suddenly at his home here from a heart attack on
June 2. Mr. Chubb was an employee of Stella Cheese Co. since 1939. He 1943
he was transferred from Cumberland to Barronett where he served as
cheesemaker and manager until the closing of the plant there in 1963. He
then returned here and took over the field work for the Cumberland area. He
was born in Cumberland on Aug. 1, 1913, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Chubb.
He graduated from CHS and lived here all of his life except for a few years
in Idaho. On Feb. 23, 1935, he was married in Cumberland to Vivian Nyman.
Mr. Chubb was active in the Augustana Lutheran Church where he was baptized
and confirmed. He served on the church council and as its secretary.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian; (Private);
and five grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Catherine Young and
Margaret Harkness, both of Spooner, and Clara Evans of Sand Point, Ida.; and
four brothers, William of Bonners Ferry, Ida., Myran of Yocke, Calif., George
of Mountain Home, Ida., and Clarence of River Falls. He was preceded in
death by an infant son, his parents, a sister, and two brothers. Funeral
services were held at the Augustana Lutheran Church on June 5, with the Rev.
B. Benson of Center City, Minn., officiating. Interment was in Lakeside
Cemetery. Coltone Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers
were Nilo Nelli, L. M. Tappon, Hubert Thoe, Glen Christensen, Iral Cook, and
Robert Hegg.
