Obituary : Alice Gladys Kahl
Alice Gladys Stockman, 87
Longtime Kootenai resident Alice Gladys Stockman, 87, died Saturday, Feb. 22,
at the Sandpoint Manor. Private family services were held Feb. 25 at
Coffelt's Moon Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Wigton of the First Christian
Church officiating. Interment followed at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Mrs.
Stockman was born May 16, 1898 at Woodlake, Minn., to Ida and Theodore Kahl.
She moved to Kootenai in 1910. On Oct. 18, 1926 she married Ben Stockman at
Ritzville, Wash. Mrs. Stockman was a member of the Ponderay Birthday Club,
the Kootenai Grange and the Kootenai Better Community Club and a former
member of the Lady's Loyal Legion, the Eagles, and the Academy of Friendship.
She was also active at the Sandpoint Senior Citizens Center. She is survived
by (Private); two grandchildren and one great
granddaughter. Memorials may be made to the Senior Citizens Center at
Sandpoint or to the American Cancer Society.

Service for Alice Stockman, 87, a longtime North Idaho resident, was Tuesday
at Coffelt's Moon Chapel in Sandpoint. Burial followed at Pinecrest Memorial
Park. Mrs. Stockman died Saturday at Sandpoint Manor. Daughter of Theodore
and Ida Kahl, she was born May 16, 1898, at Wood Lake, Minn., and came to
Kootenai in 1910. She married Ben Stockman in 1926 at Ritzville, Wash. He
died in 1974. Mrs. Stockman was a member of Pend Oreille Birthday Club and
Kootenai Grange, and was active in Sandpoint Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include (Private); two grandchildren;
and one great-granddaughter.
